The service(s) provided by The Cesarean Doula, our associated social media properties, and our website, cesareandoula.com, range from no-cost/low-cost trauma-informed resources and peer support, to group coaching, to go-at-your-own-pace courses, to virtual and live workshops for parents, intended parents, birth workers, and birth educators.
Our mission is to provide parents and intended parents with trauma-informed practices and resources in support of recovery from cesarean birth, especially births that were emotionally difficult or traumatic. We make no claim to provide healing or facilitate healing of any kind.
A Doula is defined as a non-professional layperson who provides support to people in various stages of life. Though we may have formal training and certifications related to our practice, our work is never intended to be a replacement for medical or psychological care, advice, or services and we make no claims to provide such services.
Our resources, peer support, group coaching, go-at-your-own-pace courses, virtual and live workshops for parents, birth workers, and work educators are not a medical or mental health service. The Cesarean Doula does not provide psychotherapy or mental health counseling. No diagnosis or treatment of, or advice regarding any medical or mental health condition or illness will be offered. The Cesarean Doula is not an alternative to medical or other healthcare diagnosis or treatment.
You are advised to seek diagnosis, treatment and advice regarding medical or mental health conditions or illnesses from a physician, psychiatrist, psychologist, and other licensed healthcare and mental health professionals.
The Cesarean Doula staff, volunteers, collaborators, and facilitators may hold graduate degrees, be licensed or certified in healthcare or related professions. However, the services offered by The Cesarean Doula are not medical, psychiatric, psychological, psychotherapy or any type of healthcare or mental healthcare service.
The Cesarean Doula reserves the right to refuse services to clients at any time, including but not limited to discontinuing any and all services to any client(s) who in the sole opinion of The Cesarean Doula is/are not benefitting from its services.
By participating in any program or resource offered by The Cesarean Doula, the client (customer, member) agrees to release The Cesarean Doula from any and all liability claims of any type, for any reason.
Due to the sensitive nature of participant shares, most live workshops will not be available via recording. No refunds will be offered for missed workshops.
Cesarean Mothers Circle
The Cesarean Mothers Circle (Circle) is an online support group for cesarean mothers that is led and facilitated by the Cesarean Doula. The purpose of the Circle is to create a safe space for cesarean mothers to process their difficult birth experience in a community environment with other mothers who can relate.
Although it will utilize many therapeutic practices in the field of birth trauma and trauma recovery, this group is not facilitated by a medical doctor or psychiatrist, and should not be used as a substitute for care from a licensed provider.
The Circle takes place once per month online via Zoom for five consecutive months. Financial enrollment is made through the website. Payments as specified during the registration process will be deducted automatically each month for a maximum of 5 (five) months. After the 5th session, membership will automatically be canceled by The Cesarean Doula and no further payments will be made or received.
Refunds are not offered for the Circle. All sessions will be recorded and made available to participants, through password protection, for a limited time. Participants should never share recording content outside of the circle. While some portion of the facilitator-led sections may be used for marketing purposes, marketing materials will never include participant faces, voices, or identities.
Enrolled participants may choose to cancel their participation in the Cesarean Mothers Circle by logging into their MoonClerk account (MoonClerk is the third-party tool we use for payments), navigating to the Cesarean Mothers Circle, and canceling their membership. They may also cancel by emailing info@cesareandoula.com. Requesting a cancelation will cancel all future payments but will not refund past payments.

WAIVER OF JURY TRIAL

The arbitration proceedings shall be conducted within Siskiyou County. Each party shall pay an equal share of the arbitrator's charges. Discovery shall be permitted consistent with the California Discovery Act. Each party shall bear its own attorney fees. The arbitrator's award shall be enforceable in the aforesaid Superior Court."
